Corruption scandal in "Chernivtsi Vodokanal": suspicion raised against the director and procurement department employee

General Director of the Municipal Enterprise "Chernivtsivodokanal" Andriy Kolesnyk and a leading procurement specialist received suspicions in the case of embezzlement of budget funds during the purchase of a vehicle for transporting emergency repair crews.

According to law enforcement, the suspects organized the procurement of a vehicle at an inflated price, which led to significant losses for the municipal enterprise and the city budget of Chernivtsi.

Investigators established that during the tender procedures, a number of violations were committed, including document forgery and collusion among participants, which allowed the purchase of the vehicle at a price significantly higher than the market value.

Law enforcement continues the investigation, and the suspects face criminal liability under articles related to misappropriation and abuse of office.

City management has already promised to strengthen control over procurements in municipal enterprises to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Currently, both suspects are under the procedural guidance of law enforcement agencies, and investigative actions are ongoing.
