Zelenskyy and Trump discuss a "mega deal": drones from Ukraine — weapons from the USA

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced discussions with former US President Donald Trump about a potential "megadeal" that envisages mutual benefits for both countries in the field of military technologies.

He made this statement in an interview with The New York Post.

According to this initiative, the US could gain access to advanced Ukrainian drones, tested in combat conditions, while Ukraine would receive modern American weaponry. According to Zelenskyy, the deal concerns "breakthrough cooperation in the field of aviation technologies" and could be transformative for the US Armed Forces.

"We are ready to share everything we know about modern warfare," noted Zelenskyy. "I believe this is a real megadeal — a win for both sides."

American analysts acknowledge that the US military lags behind in the field of drones compared to both Russia and China. Cooperation with Ukraine, which has unique experience in using drones on the frontline, could significantly enhance US defence capabilities.

In this context, on July 14, Trump announced a new agreement between the US and NATO: arms supplies to Ukraine will now be paid for by European allies. Specifically, he promised to transfer additional Patriot missile systems to Ukraine as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, Germany notes that the supply of these systems may take months. Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that Berlin is ready to purchase two Patriot batteries from the US and transfer them to Ukraine.
