Prosecutor General Kravchenko plans to verify the jurisdiction of NABU cases

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Ruslan Kravchenko, announced the intention to verify whether the cases being investigated by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau truly fall under its jurisdiction.

He stated this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigative Commission, which is investigating possible cases of corruption in law enforcement agencies, courts, and the judiciary, reports «Suspilne».

According to Kravchenko, there are cases that the NABU is investigating, although they do not fall under its investigative jurisdiction. The Prosecutor General emphasized the necessity of transferring such cases to the appropriate law enforcement agencies that have the authority to investigate them.

Kravchenko also expressed concern about the limitations on the powers of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and granting the Prosecutor General the right to sign suspicions against top officials. He stressed that these issues and the verification of the investigative jurisdiction of NABU cases are a great responsibility.
