The states will continue to sell weapons to Ukraine regardless of the outcome of the negotiations
The United States will continue to sell weapons to NATO countries for Ukraine, even if negotiations with Russia do not yield the expected results.
This was reported by Axios.
"Even if diplomatic efforts are not successful, (US President Donald – ed.) Trump will continue to sell weapons to NATO countries for Ukraine," said an unnamed American official.
He also emphasized that even if Trump’s rhetoric sometimes sounds pro-Russian, it is only because the American leader believes that such messages will help strike a deal with Russia.
"He is still angry at (Russian dictator Vladimir – ed.) Putin. He is really fed up with this," added a source in the White House.
The Axios interlocutor added that the consensus in the Trump administration over the past few months has been that the US and its allies can weaken the Russian economy in a matter of days.
"There are more ways to destroy Ukraine. But if he has to choose a side, Trump will start striking the Russian economy," added a senior US official.
