In Kyiv, during an airstrike, a nurse and a patient from the Institute of Cardiology were killed
Two people died in a ward of the Strazhesko Institute of Cardiology during an airstrike on Kyiv on Sunday, September 28. They were a nurse and a patient undergoing treatment. However, despite the attack, the hospital continues to operate - only one of its floors has been taken out of use.
This was reported by Informator.
The death of a nurse and a patient at the Strazhesko Institute of Cardiology was shared in a Facebook post by the Minister of Health, Viktor Liashko, who visited the facility on the morning of Monday, September 29. According to him, the Institute suffered significant damage, yet despite the shelling, the hospital continues to function.
"Currently, one of the floors has been temporarily taken out of use, but the operating rooms are functioning, diagnostic equipment has been saved, and doctors are already on site providing care to patients," said Viktor Lyashko.
According to the minister, he spoke with the Institute’s staff and has already instructed the academy’s leadership and the facility to prepare the necessary documents to initiate rapid recovery. All required assistance to return the hospital to full operation will be provided by the government: Liashko noted that the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine will be involved in the recovery efforts. This decision was already agreed upon during a government meeting on September 29.
