"Ukrzaliznytsia" has changed the train schedule: delays and canceled trips due to emergency shutdowns

In Ukraine, due to massive shelling of energy infrastructure, temporary delays and partial restrictions on train movement are observed in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions, where some services have been canceled or are operating on shortened routes. The longest delays currently affect train №6364 Hrebinka – Romodan (up to 2 hours) and service №6426 Bukyne – Kharkiv (+2:30), while in the northern directions (Sumy and Chernihiv regions), train movement is gradually stabilizing.

This was reported in a statement by "Ukrzaliznytsia". OBOZ.UA has compiled all the information regarding train movement. Morning departures on October 10 in most directions took place on time or with minor delays.

Particularly symbolic was the first trip of the Kyiv – Bucharest train, which departed exactly on schedule despite power supply interruptions in the capital. From Darnytsia, only two trains departed with delays of up to one hour:

  • №722 Kyiv – Kharkiv (+1:26);
  • №712 Kyiv – Kramatorsk (+0:57).

Minor deviations are also recorded on interregional routes. Specifically:

  • №115/116 Kyiv – Sumy (+0:50);
  • №779/780 Sumy – Kyiv (+0:47);
  • №715/716 Przemysl – Kyiv (+0:23);
  • №73/74 Kharkiv – Przemysl (+0:20).

Dnipropetrovsk Region: delays due to network damage

The most challenging situation is observed in the Dnipropetrovsk region – due to the lack of voltage in the contact network following enemy shelling. This has led to temporary delays of several suburban services, and in some sections, movement is restricted or temporarily suspended.

Particularly noticeable delays are recorded in the Hrebinka area, where train movement on the Kyiv – Hrebinka and Berezan – Kyiv-Volynsky routes is complicated. Service №6364 Hrebinka – Romodan departed from Vyla station with a delay of up to 2 hours.

Kyiv and Poltava Regions: partial restrictions

In the Kyiv region, local delays of suburban trains persist, though movement remains stable. For instance, from Yahotyn station, suburban train №6805 Hrebinka – Kyiv-Volynsky departed with a delay of 1.5 hours, and in the opposite direction, service №6802 had a delay of 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Train №6072 Tarasivka – Kyiv-Passenger is temporarily not operating. In the Poltava region, several suburban services have been temporarily suspended due to damage to the contact network on the Hrebinka – Poltava-South section:

  • №6726 Romodan – Hoholeve;
  • №6723 Hoholeve – Romodan;
  • №6368 Hrebinka – Lubny;
  • №6367 Lubny – Hrebinka.

Kharkiv and Donetsk Regions: movement gradually resuming

In the Kharkiv region, issues with power supply persist, causing delays for several trains. Specifically:

  • №6426 Bukyne – Kharkiv (+2:30);
  • №6403 Kharkiv – Izium (+0:30);
  • №6825/6815 Kharkiv – Sloviansk (+0:20);
  • №7010/7009 Kamianske – Kramatorsk (+0:40).

Due to heightened danger in the Donetsk region, changes have been made to the schedule: train №7010/7009 temporarily operates on the Kamianske – Sloviansk route. Service №6818 Kramatorsk – Sloviansk has been canceled for today.

Chernihiv and Sumy Regions

In the northern directions, the situation is improving. Suburban train movement on the Konotop – Nizhyn section has been restored, and they are again operating on full routes. Train №6453–6458 between Nizhyn and Konotop is already back on the line.
