The European Commission on Tuesday, March 12, approved the negotiating framework for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

This became known from a statement by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

“The European Commission has approved the negotiating framework on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union! The corresponding proposals have been submitted to the EU Council,” the prime minister said.

Shmygal noted that Ukraine has become one step closer to the start of negotiations and membership in the European Union.

“This step is evidence of Ukraine’s achievements, our transformation and the fact that Ukraine will definitely be a member of the EU. The priority of our government is to make sure this happens as quickly as possible,” Shmyhal added.
