Interpol blocks resolution on ex-MP Hranovskyi’s wanted list
Interpol has blocked the resolution on the international wanted list of former MP Oleksandr Hranovskyi.
This was announced by the SAPO prosecutor during a meeting in the case of consideration of a petition for permission to conduct an investigation in absentia against Hranovskyi.
In the summer of 2023, the materials were sent to the Department of International Police Cooperation. In November 2023, the materials were sent to the Interpol Central Office for issuing a red alert on Hranovskyi. However, the issuance of a red alert is blocked due to complaints from the defence, which are verified by a commission from Interpol files. - Prosecutor.
The representative of the prosecution also said that, on the basis of the resolution on Hranovskyi’s arrest in absentia, the prosecutor’s office sent requests for his detention and extradition to several states, but there have been no answers from them yet.
Previously, the court refused to give permission for a trial in absentia against ex-People’s Deputy Hranovskyi.
The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the first instance decision on the arrest in absentia of former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksander Hranovskyi.
Hranovskyi is suspected of organizing a corruption scheme at the Odesa port plant. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau has put him on the wanted list.
