Commander of the OC ’South’ Kovalchuk announces his resignation

The commander of the troops of the Operational Command "South", Major General Andriy Kovalchuk, announced his resignation from his post and transfer to the field of training military personnel.

It became known from Kovalchuk’s appeal .

The commander thanked the military personnel for their two and a half years of service.

“Together we liberated from the occupier part of the Odesa region - Zmiinyi Island - and the lion’s share of the territorial sea of Ukraine, the Mykolaiv region and the Kherson region on the right bank of the Dnipro. We carried out combat missions, repelling a daring enemy landing, throwing back and sinking enemy ships, creating unprecedented historical facts of the newest era of our Armed Forces.

Kovalchuk also said that he remains in the army family and will continue to educate young officers.

“With confidence in us and in our strengths, I remain in a single army family, and in the education of young officers I will introduce the same principles and requirements that I have always had and have for myself and those I lead: honor, decency, patriotism , responsibility, courage and common sense - from this a real commander grows, capable of being a role model and educating his combat team by his own example.”
