The Poles have extended the blockade of the Ukrainian border: hundreds of trucks are in queues

As of the morning of 22 April, Polish farmers are blocking two checkpoints on the Ukrainian border for trucks. These are Yahodyn and Rava-Ruska, where the protesters allow only a few trucks per hour or restrict freight traffic altogether. At two blocked checkpoints, about 800 trucks are queuing on the Polish side.

Speaker of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko spoke about this, Ukrinform reports. Demchenko recalled that Yagodin is the largest infrastructure area for trucks crossing the border.

Under normal conditions, the point is capable of handling about 1,400 trucks per day in both directions. However, now the figure is tens of times less.

“Polish protesters do not allow trucks to pass through Yahodyn towards Poland. Also, in this direction, protesters still allow a small number of trucks towards Ukraine, especially when compared with the throughput capacity of this direction. Over the past day there were 75 of them,” Demchenko said .

He noted that since April 21, at the Rawa-Russkaya checkpoint, trucks began to be partially allowed to enter Poland. Cars and buses cross the border freely, since there are no traffic restrictions for them.

In addition, from April 20, truck traffic has been resumed at the Shehyni-Medyka and Krakivets-Korchova checkpoints. The protests there have ended, and the passage of cargo vehicles across the border is carried out as usual.
