Russian troops struck the residential sector of Kharkiv on the afternoon of May 18. As a result of the arrival, several private houses were destroyed and six people were injured.
This was announced by the mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov . As of 14.50, he said that a series of explosions were heard in the city. The head of the Kharkiv RMA, Oleh Syniehubov , in turn, said that among the wounded were two children - 13 and 16 years old.
The minors, according to the head of the police department, were slightly injured.
At the time of their arrival, they were resting in the yard where the shell hit, the acting deputy told Suspilne. Head of the Department for Combating War Crimes of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office Spartak Borysenko.
According to him, the children were taken to the hospital. The three other wounded are residents of neighboring houses, their details are being established.
The fragments of ammunition, according to Borysenko, are similar to UMPB D-30.
“Here there was one hit, one ammunition hit. One crater is the entrance of the rocket, the second is the entrance of its engine: most likely it hit a tree, the engine made one crater, the warhead is there,” the law enforcement officer said.
The prosecutor’s office clarified that on May 18, at about 15:15, the Russian army carried out an airstrike on a private housing sector in the Shevchenkovsky district of the city, as a result of which six people were injured.
“As a result of enemy shelling, five people were injured, including a 13-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy. An 8-year-old girl suffered an acute stress reaction,” they noted .
Under the procedural leadership of the Shevchenko District Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
