Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk called not to put pressure on Ukrainians who have gone abroad. For they are not traitors or criminals.

She wrote about this in her Telegram channel. The official outlined the things that should not yet be done in relation to Ukrainians abroad.

“Yes, now many Ukrainians are abroad. Yes, many of them, for various reasons, do not want or cannot return now. Yes, among them there are many men who are afraid of mobilization,” she wrote and noted that she would not give prescriptions, what to do to get people to come back.

However, in her opinion, there are things that definitely should not be done now. In particular, she turned to her colleagues in power and other politicians.

Vereshchuk emphasized that there is no need to talk to people who allegedly are traitors or criminals. Also, you should not threaten people with various measures, especially around their documents.

“I’m not saying all this because I’m so kind. Look pragmatically. Such public statements or steps will not really bring any benefit. No one will return because they were scared or because their conscience is stuck,” Vereshchuk added.

She also admitted the possibility that each such public statement means a certain number of Ukrainians who will decide to build their future and their children not in Ukraine. And all sorts of such “scarecrows,” in her opinion, do not improve mobilization, but worsen demography and the economy.

"So why do this?" – the Deputy Prime Minister summed up her opinion with a rather rhetorical question.
