Zelenskyy met with the Marshal of the Sejm of Poland

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Szymon Holovna, who arrived in Ukraine on 19 June. They discussed the situation on the frontline, Russian air terror and cooperation in protecting Ukrainian skies.

The Office of the President of Ukraine reported on its website that Zelenskyy noted the level of cooperation between our parliaments, as well as the initiative to hold a summit of the heads of parliaments of Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in Bialystok, Poland. This event occurred on June 10-11.

The head of state thanked Warsaw and separately the country’s Sejm for their comprehensive assistance.

“Thank you for the Polish advocacy regarding Ukrainian future membership in the EU. We really feel this support from Poland, and I hope for a positive decision from the European Union by the end of June. We also need your support on the eve of the NATO summit,” the president said.

Special attention was paid to the results of the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, in which Polish President Andrzej Duda took part, as well as preparations for the signing of a bilateral security agreement.
