In Ternopil region, a military TRC officer was detained for accepting a bribe
In the Ternopil region, a military man was detained who helped a citizen leave the territory of the TRC for 5,000 US dollars.
This was reported by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Sphere of Defence of the Western Region.
"Under the procedural guidance of the Ternopil Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the sphere of defense of the Western region, a 43-year-old serviceman of the regional territorial center for recruitment and social support was notified of suspicion on the fact of abuse of influence (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the statement says.
According to the investigation, the suspect demanded $5,000 from a citizen brought in for verification of military registration data. For this money, he was supposed to influence his colleagues and help the man leave the territory of the TRC. And also help so that the conscript would not receive a military summons and would not be brought to administrative responsibility for untimely renewal of documents.
After receiving the entire amount of the illegal benefit, the suspect was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation. In the meantime, prosecutors have filed a motion with the court to select a preventive measure for him. The detainee faces 3 to 8 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
