A law enforcement officer who organized a "scheme" for men to cross the border was exposed in Bukovyna

A law enforcement officer was detained in Bukovyna who, together with three accomplices, created a channel for the illegal transfer of military-liable men to the countries of the European Union. The cost of the services was 6.5 thousand euros.

The State Bureau of Investigation reported this. The law enforcement officer drove clients to a site near the border, where his accomplices escorted the men to Romania on foot along difficult mountain routes.

The men were advised to have sufficient food and water.

The border guards first detained the group on foot, and later tracked down the organizer. He was notified of suspicion of assisting in the illegal transportation of persons across the state border by prior agreement for mercenary motives (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The issue of choosing a preventive measure and removing the law enforcement officer from office is being decided. The pre-trial investigation is also ongoing in relation to three civilian accomplices.

This article provides for a punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 9 years.
