In the Kyiv region, college employees organized a scheme to evade mobilization
In the Kyiv region, SSU employees uncovered a deputy director of a financial college and two of his subordinates who organized a scheme to evade mobilization. They retroactively enrolled men in postgraduate programs, which provided the opportunity for deferment and travel abroad.
This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine. The suspects face up to 8 years in prison.
"A deputy director of a financial college and two of his subordinates were exposed, who had been ’retroactively’ enrolling their clients into postgraduate programs. To carry out the crime, the figures ’assisted in the admission’ of draft evaders to a private research institute as college students, which, in fact, they did not attend," the report states.
According to the Security Service, in this way, draft evaders received the opportunity for deferment from mobilization and travel abroad. The cost of such "services" amounted to up to 8,000 US dollars per "client."
The Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office noted that law enforcement recorded over 50 such cases. During searches, the perpetrators were found with postgraduate IDs, lists of those liable for military service, as well as records of the amounts received. The perpetrators have been notified of the suspicion.
