Unsinkable Mykhailo Burdeinyi — a symbol of the corruption stability of Volyn Customs

Today marks exactly one month since the best corruption times returned to the Volyn Customs in the face of the unchanging cashier Mykhailo Burdeynyi.

The risky decision to appoint Burdeynyi was made by the head of Volyn Customs, Andriy Chaboray, who immediately lost his position because of it.

Whether he lost anything "financially" due to this appointment is unknown, but after being dismissed, Chaboray immediately went on vacation.

Meanwhile, Burdeynyi, thanks to the support of local law enforcers and smugglers who pushed for his return as shift leader at "Yahodyn," managed to stay.

Dmytro Stasenko, appointed in place of Chaboray, had several weeks to address the issue of Burdeynyi’s suspension, but has yet to do so. And this, despite understanding that it was a top priority when he took the position.

Volyn customs officers say that Burdeynyi often visits Stasenko’s office, but upon leaving, he doesn’t go to pack his things; he goes to "Yahodyn" to serve the interests of those who reinstated him to the post.

And no one seems able to do anything about it.
I have already written that Burdeynyi is becoming a true symbol of the feudalization of corruption, when such issues "on the ground" ignore Kyiv.

You all be careful with this, because they could stop transferring the cash from Volyn to Kyiv.

P.S. And yes, the case of the $700k cash that Burdeynyi was transporting to Kyiv has indeed been closed by NABU.
But did Burdeynyi stop being the customs cashier after this?
Definitely not.
