In Ukraine, an underground medical complex "Kovcheh" is being constructed

The first underground hospital in the country is being built in Kharkiv. It will be able to accommodate more than 2000 patients simultaneously.

On November 19, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the "Plan of the Country’s Internal Resilience" in the Verkhovna Rada.

This was reported during a television marathon by the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Synyehubov, who shared details about the implementation of the plan in the region.

Projects in the field of medicine are being implemented within the "Human Capital" and "Security" directions. One of the most ambitious and important is the construction of the underground medical complex "Kovcheh (Ark)" based at the Kharkiv Regional Clinical Hospital.

"This will be the first underground hospital in Ukraine to provide high-quality medical services in the safest possible conditions. After all, for our border region, the most important thing is to ensure the safety of the population from enemy strikes. More than 2000 people will be able to receive medical care here simultaneously," explained Synyehubov.

The head of the region also reported on the situation in the Kharkiv region. Evacuations are ongoing—with almost 5000 people evacuated from the Kupyansk direction and over 2400 from the Borivske direction. More than 7300 and approximately 2100 local residents remain in these settlements, respectively. The official assured that all necessary assistance is being provided to the people—from food and warm clothing to temporary housing and financial support.

"We urge residents of designated areas to evacuate to safer territorial communities in the Kharkiv region. Do not neglect your own life and the safety of your loved ones," added Synyehubov.
