Zelenskyy: France has accelerated the process of transferring Mirage fighter jets to Ukraine

France agreed to expedite the process of supplying Ukraine with Mirage fighter jets. Additionally, Paris will help strengthen Ukraine’s air defence.

This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Telegram.

According to the head of state, he held talks with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.

"I thanked France for its willingness to assist with urgently strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, as well as for comprehensive defence support and speeding up the process of transferring Mirage aircraft," Zelenskyy wrote.

As the Ukrainian president emphasized, he appreciates that France understands the challenges Ukraine faces. During the negotiations, the issue of strengthening Ukraine’s air defense was discussed in detail.

"I emphasized the importance of inviting Ukraine to NATO and expanding long-range capabilities—not only as a necessary measure to counter Russian aggression but also to bring peace closer," Zelenskyy specified.

He added that the continuation of the training and equipping of Ukrainian brigades was also discussed, both on the territory of NATO countries and through the development of the idea of training missions on the territory of Ukraine.
