Zelenskyy: Russia wants to disrupt the possibility of peace more than anyone else

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized this on Telegram.

“Yesterday, I was with President Macron at the Élysée Palace. There was a good meeting with President Trump. We discussed important issues on the battlefield in Ukraine and in the global situation – from our front to North Korea. I stressed that we need a just and lasting peace that Russians cannot destroy in a few years, as they have already done,” the head of state declared.

According to him, this is clear not only for our country and region.

“We see how Russia is now trying to subjugate Georgia after several wars against this country. Russia still does not let go of Moldova. Now, Russians are leaving Syria, but this does not mean they will not try to sow death there again,” Zelenskyy noted.

He reminded that Russian military presence is even in Africa, and this is for the purpose of destabilization.

“Therefore, when we talk about an effective peace with Russia, we must first and foremost speak about effective guarantees of peace. Ukrainians want peace more than anyone. Russia brought war to our land. And it is Russia that most of all wants to disrupt the possibility of peace,” the President emphasized.

He stated that this war cannot be ended “just with a piece of paper and a few signatures, and a ceasefire without guarantees can be reignited at any moment, as Putin has already done.”

“To ensure that there are no more losses of Ukrainians, we must ensure the reliability of peace and not turn a blind eye to occupation,” Zelenskyy stressed.

According to him, Putin can only be stopped with force, “the force of the world’s leaders who can become leaders of peace.”

“We count on America and the whole world to stop Putin,” the President noted.

According to him, the only thing Putin fears is America and the unity of the world.

“It is precisely about peace through strength that we speak with all our partners – about real peace and the steps and guarantees that are needed for this for the people and the state attacked by Russia. The war must not be endless; only peace must be enduring and reliable,” the head of state declared.
