The High Anti-Corruption Court removed the electronic bracelet and allowed the head of the Anti-Monopoly Committee, Pavlo Kyrylenko, to freely travel across Ukraine. NABU and the SAPO suspect him of illegal enrichment amounting to 72.1 million UAH and of false declaration of assets.

Such a decision was made on December 12 by the investigative judge of the HACC, Volodymyr Voronko, as reported by law enforcement sources to "Slovo i Dilo" and confirmed by court case materials.

As known, the Anti-Corruption Court refused to arrest Kyrylenko and released him on a 30.28 million UAH bail. He was also subjected to the following obligations: to appear upon the first demand; to inform about any change of residence; not to leave Kyiv without permission; to refrain from communicating with witnesses; to surrender foreign passports for safekeeping and to wear an electronic bracelet.

Kyrylenko’s defence asked to change the preventive measure. According to the sources, the lawyer requested the removal of certain restrictions as they hinder the head of the AMCU from performing his duties, specifically visiting the committee’s regional offices. Judge Voronko partially granted the request by removing the bracelet and amending the prohibition from not leaving Kyiv to the borders of Ukraine.

"The petition is partially satisfied. Change the preventive measure applied to (Kyrylenko – ed.) with regard to the additional obligations imposed on the suspect, namely: the obligation stipulated in para. 2 part 5 art. 194 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, is to be imposed on the suspect in the following wording – not to leave the territory of Ukraine without the permission of a detective, prosecutor, or court; the obligation stipulated in para. 9 part 5 art. 194 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, to wear an electronic control device – to cancel. The rest of the preventive measure remains unchanged," the decision states.
