Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

The head of state posted this information on Telegram.

The parties discussed the priorities of the new composition of the European Commission and Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

"We separately discussed the issue of using frozen Russian assets for Ukraine’s needs. Thank you for the new macro-financial assistance from the EU in the amount of €18.1 billion as part of the G7 loan. We expect to receive the first tranche as early as January 2025.

We appreciate Ursula von der Leyen’s personal efforts in consolidating unity in the EU around our country. The united position of Ukraine and all other European countries is important for bringing about a just peace," Zelenskyy emphasized.
