At the Ministry of Justice, they have started restoring the registries after the hostile cyber attack
The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has initiated the process of restoring damaged state registers. They were compromised due to a cyberattack from Russia, which occurred on December 19th.
This information was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Justice, Mykola Kucheryavenko, during the national telethon.
In his opinion, backup copies of all registers were preserved, and no information was lost.
"Tomorrow, there will be a verification of the backup copies, and the restoration is expected to begin according to the approved plan," Kucheryavenko stated.
He emphasized that the restoration of the register infrastructure is ongoing, the platforms are ready to operate, and the Ministry is working around the clock.
Initially, it is planned to restore:
- The Power of Attorney Register,
- The Register of Special Notarial Document Blanks,
- The Inheritance Register.
Next, experts will restore access to:
- The State Register of Civil Status Acts,
- The Unified State Register,
- The Register of Real Property Rights.
