The Ministry of Defence explained which Ukrainians will have their reservation automatically extended for a month

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine will automatically extend the deferment for certain categories of citizens. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to extend the current deferment from mobilization by one month, but no later than February 28, 2025.

In particular, according to Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations, and Digitalization, this applies to deferments that were valid as of December 19, 2024, and were granted in accordance with Resolution No. 76 dated January 27, 2023. The decision is related to the temporary suspension of state registers due to a cyberattack.

Example: If an employee’s deferment was set to expire on December 20, 2024, it will be automatically extended until January 20, 2025. If the deferment expired before December 19, that is, before the cyberattack, employers will be able to renew it after the recovery of the registers’ operations.

"By December 27, for all reservists who see their deferment in ’Reserve+’ and are subject to the Resolution, we will extend the deferment automatically," Kateryna Chernohorenko noted.
