Elections in Ukraine are possible after the end of the active phase of the war, — Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that after the end of the active phase of the war and the strengthening of Ukraine’s positions, it will be possible to think about the restoration of democratic processes, including holding elections.

According to him, if the country has a strong army, weapons packages, and security guarantees, then the issue of lifting martial law can be considered.

«If we succeed and can achieve the end of the active phase of the war in a strong position for Ukraine, we will have a strong army, a strong package of weapons, and security guarantees, then we can think about not having martial law in Ukraine,» — Zelenskyy noted.

The president emphasized that after this, the parliament can support an appropriate date for holding elections. At the same time, he noted that the decision will depend on the development of the situation at the front and ensuring an adequate level of security for the citizens.
