The survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), revealed that the level of trust in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains stable at 52%.

These are the survey results reflecting the sentiments of Ukrainians as of January 2025. The dynamic of trust in the head of state remains unchanged compared to December 2024, when the support level was also 52%.

Despite economic difficulties, security challenges, and political discussions, Zelenskyy remains one of the most popular politicians in the country. Interestingly, in the conditions of war and a complex internal situation, only a small number of European leaders can boast such stable support as in Ukraine. It is noted that such trust reflects not only the consolidation of society around national goals but also the assessment of the president’s actions in matters of foreign policy, economic solutions, and anti-corruption efforts.

Overall, the results reflect a rather complex picture of trust in the president. In December 2024, 52% of Ukrainians expressed trust in Zelenskyy, while 39% of respondents expressed distrust. The dynamics of trust have noticeably changed since 2019: for instance, in December 2023, 77% of respondents trusted the president, but by February 2024, this share had decreased to 64%, and by May 2024 to 59%.

During the year following February 2024, the situation gradually stabilized, although between October and December 2024, the trust level slightly decreased again. The main reason for the decline in trust was the increased uncertainty among respondents: if in October the share of those who were undecided was about 6%, by December this figure had risen to 9%.

The research indicates that presidential support remains at a high level, despite difficult decisions regarding mobilization, humanitarian aid, and economic reforms. An important factor is also stable information policy and the transparency of the president’s actions, which contributes to such a level of trust.
