Police discovered a "factory" of fake documents

Law enforcement officers uncovered an illegal "factory" of counterfeit documents. The criminals "earned" up to three million hryvnias each month.

This is reported by the Telegram channel of the National Police of Ukraine.

The criminals set up mass production of fake documents, including those issued by the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).

This "business" was organized by a 27-year-old resident of Prykarpattia, involving other individuals from different regions.

Among the assortment of forged documents produced by the "factory" were:

  • passport;
  • driver’s license;
  • vehicle registration certificate;
  • various documents of institutions and organizations.

In particular, it was possible to purchase certificates from the National Police, State Emergency Service, National Guard, SSU.

The suspects accepted orders via Telegram and, to avoid attracting the attention of law enforcement, organized their own system of secrecy using disposable SIM cards. All shipments were made at night through parcel lockers.

The cost of the forgery depended on the complexity of the document and the urgency of production:

  • a driver’s license cost just over 8,000 hryvnias;
  • a foreign passport - about 2,000 dollars;
  • an SSU or National Police certificate - 1,500 dollars.

Monthly profits of the criminals reached up to three million hryvnias.

  • Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 199;
