RF attacked Ukraine with 72 drones: Air Defence Forces shot down half a hundred targets

On the night of January 26, the Defence Forces repelled another drone attack by the aggressor country Russia on peaceful regions of Ukraine, which lasted from the evening of the previous day. As of Sunday morning, the downing of half a hundred drones over eight oblasts has been confirmed.

This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Kharkiv was hit by enemy UAVs, with damage recorded in several districts.

It is noted that from 7:00 PM on Saturday, Russian troops from the areas of Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk attacked Ukraine with 72 Shahed strike drones and various types of decoy drones.

The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 09:00 AM, the downing of 50 enemy UAVs in the Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Khmelnytskyi oblasts has been confirmed.

Another nine Russian decoy drones were lost locationally (without any negative consequences), and one remained in the country’s airspace, against which a combat operation continued.

At night over the Sumy region, air defence forces shot down seven "Shaheds," and in the Khmelnytskyi region, they destroyed 12 enemy drones. Another six drones were shot down by fighters from the "East" air command over the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Kharkiv suffered drone attacks: in the evening, an enemy UAV struck near an apartment building in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city, and at night a private house in the Osnovyanskyi district was hit – buildings and cars were damaged, but there were no casualties.
