Armed Forces of Ukraine provided a comment on the situation in Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk region

Victor Trehubov, spokesperson for the operational-strategic grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Khortytsia," stated that we cannot assert that Velyka Novosilka is under occupation by Russian forces.

"The Russians appeared there since yesterday, but this is, so to speak, not exactly the center. They placed a flag on the boiler house behind the stadium ’Kolos’," the spokesperson reported during a telethon broadcast.

He emphasized that he cannot disclose information about the movements of Ukrainian forces in the area of the village, as it could endanger the defense operation.

The 110th Mechanized Brigade noted that there is no threat of encirclement of Ukrainian forces in the Velyka Novosilka area. Currently, battles are ongoing in the village.

Where there was a threat of encirclement, our units "deliberately and skillfully left their positions, taking advantage of the weather conditions."
