Special Operations Forces confirmed the withdrawal of North Korean troops in the Kursk region
The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have confirmed that North Korean troops have been absent in the Kursk region of Russia for approximately three weeks.
This was stated by SOF spokesperson, Colonel Oleksandr Kindratenko, in a comment to UP.
"The Special Operations Forces only comment on areas where our units are involved. In this regard, we report that the presence of DPRK troops has not been recorded for approximately three weeks, likely because they were forced to retreat due to significant losses."
The American publication The New York Times, citing official representatives of Ukraine and the USA, reported that North Korean soldiers fighting on Russia’s side against Ukraine were withdrawn from the front line in the Kursk region after suffering heavy losses.
According to the publication, citing American officials, the decision to withdraw North Korean troops from the front line may not be final. They suggest that North Koreans might return after further training or once the Russians find new ways to deploy them to avoid such significant losses.
