The SSU has launched an investigation due to the leak of Budanov’s alleged statement

The Security Service of Ukraine has opened a criminal case due to the leak of a purported statement by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov.

This was reported by the press service of the SSU.

As noted by the Security Service, the criminal case was opened due to the disclosure of information constituting a state secret by individuals who were directly entrusted with this information during a closed, classified meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing and is conducted under Part 2 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
