In the Chernihiv region, two men suspected of drug trafficking were detained

In Chernihiv region, two men suspected of drug trafficking have been arrested. According to law enforcement officers, they regularly sold drugs and psychotropic substances to people with addiction.

This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in the Chernihiv region on its official website.

"In the Horodnia community, police officers from station No. 3 (Horodnia) documented the involvement of a 47-year-old resident of one of the villages in the Chernihiv district in drug sales during a series of operative actions. He was detained, and nearly one and a half hundred tablets of narcotic drugs were seized," the statement said.

Police also detained another resident of the Chernihiv district.

"In similar activities, police officers from station No. 1 (Mena) of the Korukiv district police department uncovered another resident of the Chernihiv district. The 30-year-old man organized the sale of a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance PVP and plant-based drugs."

Both suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility.

For the repeated sales of drugs, police investigators initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty is imprisonment for a term of six to ten years with confiscation of property.

Pre-trial investigations in both criminal cases are ongoing.
