Recently, there have been increased cases of fraud where perpetrators pose as bank representatives to gain access to citizens’ accounts. They use various methods to obtain confidential data from financial institution clients.

In the police of the Pryluky district, they reported another case of fraud.

On February 3, a 60-year-old resident of the Talalaivska community approached the police with a statement about the disappearance of 200,000 hryvnias from her bank account. The victim stated that she received a call from an unknown man who introduced himself as a bank employee.

The fraudster informed her that unauthorized individuals were trying to access her account and withdraw funds. To prevent theft, he demanded that she:

  • Delete the banking app from her phone;

  • Provide the code from the SMS message.

Unfortunately, the woman followed all the perpetrator’s instructions and lost a significant amount of money.
