More than 100,000 people may be recruited into the military police, - MP

More than 100,000 people may be recruited into the military police, stated MP Anatoliy Burmich (deputy group "Restoration of Ukraine").

The draft law on its creation states that the number should be 1.5% of the army’s strength.

"This is probably over 100,000. It was then presented that it would be organized on the basis of the military law enforcement service, which was under the command of the Minister of Defence. It will also be subordinate to the Minister of Defence, but with broader powers that will include not only military personnel but also civilians," noted Burmich.

He expressed doubt about the appropriateness of creating such an agency.

It should be noted that the strength of the Defence Forces is less than a million people. But even 1.5% of a million is 15,000 people, not 100,000.
