The total losses of the Russian army in the Kursk region exceeded 48,000 people, of which about 20,000 were killed.

The total losses of Russian troops in the Kursk region exceeded 48,000, of which about 20,000 were killed. This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on Friday, February 14.

During his work in units in the Sumy region, Syrskyi presented honorary awards to our servicemen who are currently ensuring security and carrying out combat missions, including in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

He said that these are primarily the brigades of the Air Assault Forces, as well as units of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among them are those who repel enemy attacks in the Kursk region and conduct successful offensive actions themselves.

"Thanks to these warriors, our northern border is strong. Thanks to them, Ukraine, even six months after the start of the offensive operation in the Kursk region, retains control over hundreds of square kilometers of the aggressor country’s territory, and the enemy continues to suffer significant losses in personnel and equipment. Thus, the total losses of the enemy in the Kursk region amount to over 48,000 people, of which about 20,000 are killed," said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He expressed gratitude to each and every one who continues to selflessly fulfill their military duty, demonstrating high professionalism and indomitable spirit.
