The head of state said that he is "one of the most liberal people," but noted that war always requires the restriction of certain freedoms.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy assured that he does not cling to his position and will be ready to leave it when the war ends and Ukraine’s security is guaranteed.

He stated this on the talk show Maischberger on the German channel ARD on Monday, February 17.

"I am ready for anything, just anything. For a long and lasting peace. As a person, as a citizen, as a father. I am not clinging to anything. I am the president of Ukraine because 73% of people voted for me, and today I am the president of Ukraine because I have the support of the majority in my country," he said.

Zelenskyy responded to the question of whether he would be ready to leave office if the requirement for signing a peace agreement was "without Zelenskyy only."

The politician noted that the aggressor country, Russia, wants to get rid of him. Perhaps not physically, as they tried at the beginning of the war, but politically.

"And this is quite understandable. I am a very inconvenient person for Putin," the president stated.

According to the guarantor, he is doing "what a president should do in wartime."
