Zelenskyy: Ukraine covers 30% of the army’s needs with its own production and is increasing capacity

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that thanks to its own production, Ukraine covers 30% of the needs of the Defence Forces, and this is not enough, but it is more than any individual country in Europe.

«We produce 30% of the total volume of what we need today. It is not enough, but it is not little, and more than any individual European country today provides,» — said the head of the Ukrainian state at a press conference on February 19.

As President Zelenskyy pointed out, first of all, the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex will focus on the production of UAVs, electronic warfare means, and artillery.

«While we are not in NATO, we will rely on ourselves and on partners, but on ourselves — this is key. And therefore we will increase our production technologically, drones, electronic warfare, and artillery foremost,» — he said.

President Zelenskyy emphasized that the Ukrainian army is «sufficiently resilient, and at least it is the most resilient and strongest today in Europe.»

«This gives us the opportunity to engage in dialogue on equal terms with other partners, allies, or non-allies,» — noted the head of the Ukrainian state.

The President of Ukraine also emphasized the importance of cooperation with Turkey.

«Ukraine and Turkey — the strongest armies in Europe. This is a fact today. Therefore it is important for us to maintain our ties,» — he concluded.
