Former head of the Zakarpattia eco-inspection Mykhailo Bank illegally crossed the border and fled to Cyprus

Former head of the Zakarpattia Eco-Inspection Mykhailo Bank illegally crossed the border to avoid military service – he is now in Cyprus.

This was reported by Vitaliy Hlahola on his Telegram channel.

Mykhailo Bank, the former head of the State Environmental Inspection in the Zakarpattia region, illegally crossed the Ukrainian border and fled to Hungary. He crossed the border outside the official checkpoints.

He was detained by the Hungarian police in the village of Tiszacsernyo, which is on the border with the Ukrainian village of Solovka (Uzhhorod district). However, after being detained, law enforcement released him, and he is currently in Cyprus.

What preceded this?

On February 10, Bank was brought to Uzhhorod’s RTRC and SS, where he underwent a military medical commission. The verdict – fit for service.

On February 13, he was supposed to report according to his military summons.

But already by February 12, the official disappeared – the next day it became known that he had crossed the border and fled Ukraine.

«According to my insider information, after the Hungarian police released Bank, he managed to reach the island of Cyprus, where he is currently residing. The Hungarian side officially confirmed to the Ukrainian side the data on Bank’s border crossing», — writes Hlahola.

Mykhailo Bank has been under investigation by the State Bureau of Investigation for several years. According to the investigation, Mykhailo Bank, while holding a leadership position in the police, pressured local government officials in Yaremche and forestry enterprises in the region and thus managed to arrange 26 land plots totaling 4.5 hectares to be registered to his relatives and front persons in the Vyshnya tract.
