NABU uncovered a corruption scheme in the Ministry of Agrarian Policy
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) have notified a former Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food and a former deputy head of a district state administration of suspicion.
They are suspected of abuse of office and official forgery, which led to significant damages to the state (Part 2 of Article 364, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), reports the SAPO press service.
According to the investigation, in 2018, the head of one of the departments of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, who later became the deputy minister, acting together with the deputy head of the district state administration, illegally facilitated the payment of state assistance to a plant-growing enterprise.
"Thus, 27 million UAH was allocated as compensation for the purchase of planting material. However, in reality, such products were not purchased but were contributed as authorized capital of the enterprise by the sole founder," stated the SAPO press service.
The statement does not specify the names of the suspects, nor whether any of them have been detained.
