Zelenskyy did not discuss with Trump the U.S. ownership rights to Ukrainian nuclear power plants

Zelenskyy claims that he did not discuss with Trump the issue of U.S. ownership of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, including Zaporizhzhya.

According to him, Trump inquired about Zelenskyy’s opinion regarding this power plant. He replied that it cannot operate without Ukraine.

«All nuclear power plants belong to the people of Ukraine. They are state facilities, not private property. Zaporizhzhya is as well. If the Americans want to take ZNPP from the Russians, invest in it, and modernize it, this can be discussed, but the issue of ownership was not raised with Trump,» Zelenskyy said at a press conference with the Prime Minister of Norway.

Recall that in Washington, after yesterday’s conversation between Zelenskyy and Trump, it was announced that the U.S. could take over the management of Ukrainian power plants, including nuclear ones.
