SSU: Law enforcement agencies have eliminated five schemes of evasion from mobilization in various regions of Ukraine

The Security Service and the National Police have dismantled five more schemes of draft evasion and illegal departure abroad for men of conscription age.

"As a result of comprehensive measures in various regions of Ukraine, 10 organizers of the schemes, who offered their services for $5-13 thousand, were detained," - reported on the Telegram channel on Friday.

In Kyiv region, a group of lawyers was uncovered who sold draft evaders fake medical certificates of their children’s disabilities. The perpetrators also unjustifiably registered their clients as pilots and aviation engineers. This allowed them to leave Ukraine allegedly to confirm their professional suitability for operating international flights. Currently, four organizers of the schemes have been notified of suspicion.

In Kharkiv region, the SSU’s military counterintelligence detained an obstetrician who offered conscription-age men the chance to evade mobilization based on obtaining the status of a father of many children. "To prepare the necessary documents, she offered pregnant women to ’falsify’ and indicate not the actual father, but the data of her clients in the child’s birth certificate," the report states.

In Lviv region, SSU cyber specialists exposed a local entrepreneur and a neurologist doctor who traded fake disability certificates. "To prepare the ’medical history,’ they randomly used seriously ill patients with real diagnoses, who underwent medical exams in place of the draft evaders," reports the SSU.

In the Zakarpattia region, two more entrepreneurs who offered military-aged men a chance to cross into the EU via a border river received suspicion notices. The offenders promised to conduct a briefing on how to cross the water and provide a wetsuit.

In Vinnytsia, an individual who attempted to smuggle draft evaders out of Ukraine through the so-called ’green pathway’ was detained. "Initially, the man accompanied conscripts to the border in his own car, then led them into a neighboring country via ’forest trails’," the report states.

All detainees are now notified of the suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 3, Article 28; Part 1, Article 114-1 (impeding the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations by an organized group); Part 2, Article 15; Part 3, Article 332 (completed attempt of illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine by an organized group); Part 3, Article 28; Part 3, Article 358 (forgery of documents, stamps, seals, and forms, sale or use of forged documents, stamps, seals, by an organized group).

The offenders face up to nine years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
