President awarded honors to another 256 service members, of whom 230 posthumously

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded state honors to 256 defenders of Ukraine, 230 of whom posthumously.

The corresponding decree No. 223/2025 dated April 9 is published on the head of state’s website.

The document states that the awards were granted for personal courage shown in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for selfless performance of military duty.

Among the awards received by the defenders are the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, Danylo Halytsky, "For Courage," and the medals "For Military Service to Ukraine" and "Defender of the Motherland."

The President of Ukraine’s award "Cross of Combat Merit" was awarded to Junior Sergeant Serhiy Prinya.
