Trump and Zelenskyy held a meeting in Rome

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with his American counterpart Donald Trump in Rome on the sidelines of official events during the funeral of Pope Francis.

This was reported to journalists by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian president, Serhiy Nykyforov.

The day before, Trump admitted the possibility of meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Pope’s funeral.

Prior to this, Zelenskyy stated that he would like to have the opportunity to talk to US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the farewell to the Pope on Saturday.

According to EP information, the president’s decision to personally visit the Vatican depended on the feasibility of also holding meetings in Rome within the framework of "peace negotiations".
