After the destruction of the Su-30, the Russians began to act more cautiously, - Pletenchuk
After the downing of two Russian Su-30 fighter jets using missiles launched from Magura-7 sea platforms, the Russians began acting more cautiously.
This was reported in a TV interview by the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk.
"After the downing, they are behaving more cautiously. Usually, when something like this happens, they take a tactical pause and start thinking about their next moves. But, as a rule, knowing the Russians, they do this after the second incident. When it happens for the first time, they often don’t pay attention, but if it becomes systematic, then they stop and contemplate how to proceed," Pletenchuk said.
According to him, drones are now coming to the forefront, which Russia is actively using to attack the mainland of Ukraine. Pletenchuk noted that despite the constant downing of drones, their cost is quite high, and Russia uses this type of aviation almost around the clock.
Pletenchuk pointed out that the latest downing of Russian aircraft marks a new stage in the developments in the Azov-Black Sea region.
"This theater of operations, the Azov-Black Sea region, has developed through several such turning points, after which the situation changed, and the rules of the game changed. We are currently witnessing another turn, as the only environment where the Russians still had certain dominance in the Black Sea area was the airspace. This turned the area we liberated into a neighboring zone, and being there, for example, was still dangerous. They couldn’t deploy their ships, and we, accordingly, couldn’t freely operate there either. Because in the air there are constantly fighter, patrol, and reconnaissance aircraft. If this trend consolidates, if there is further development of this case, it will become a serious challenge for the Russians," Pletenchuk noted.
