Stefanishyna: Ukraine’s NATO membership is enshrined in the Alliance’s documents and is irreversible

The Alliance’s documents enshrine Ukraine’s membership in NATO; the direction can only be changed by a unanimous decision of all allies, stated Deputy Prime Minister Stefanishyna.

"In the summer of 2024, all member states of the Alliance, including the USA and EU countries, reached a consensus: there is no alternative to Ukraine’s full membership. Ukraine’s membership is irreversible... the officially adopted decision is reflected in NATO documents. Now it remains to determine when we will return to this topic," said Ukraine’s Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna.

We remind you that the President of the USA publicly expressed disagreement with Ukraine’s accession to NATO. Additionally, among NATO countries, Hungary officially opposes Ukraine’s membership. However, the decision on its acceptance into the Alliance must also be unanimous.
