A Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter accurately shot down a Russian Su-25 with a portable missile system

A soldier from the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky of the Ukrainian Ground Forces shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft. This was achieved using a portable anti-aircraft missile system "Igla".

This was reported by the operational-strategic group of troops "Khortytsia". They noted that this is not the first aircraft shot down by the Ukrainian marksman and promised that there will be "more to come". 

"This is a rare case when the downing of an enemy aircraft is captured on video. The accurate shot from the Igla MANPADS by a soldier of the 58th Brigade with the call sign ’Talib’ hit the Russian Su-25. And this is not the only trophy of our hero. As of today, among his conquests are four aircraft and two ’Shaheds’," the warrior’s comrades shared.

According to them, "Talib" greatly dislikes when any rubbish flies over his land, and he is a distinguished hunter of "game".

Interestingly, in Russia, the Su-25 is called "Grach", and in NATO classification, this aircraft is known as "Frogfoot". It is a single-seat armored subsonic attack aircraft designed to provide air support in combat zones both day and night under visual target visibility conditions, as well as to destroy objects with specified coordinates in flying weather conditions. The targets can be ground and surface targets, as well as low-altitude slow air targets.
