Fighters of the Presidential Brigade destroyed the Russian radar "Zoopark-1" worth 24 million dollars
In the Novopavlivka direction, servicemen of the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky destroyed the Russian radar system "Zoopark-1".
This was reported on Sunday, June 1st, by the Operational-Strategic Grouping of Troops "Khortytsia".
Russian forces attempted to hide the radar complex among trees, but it was tracked down and destroyed by the BULAVA unit. The fighters struck the Russian radar system using attack drones. The military published a video of the successful combat operation.
"This is very good news, especially because the Russians don’t have that many of these radar systems. And now there’s one less," the report states.
"Zoopark-1" is a radar complex for reconnaissance and fire control for counter-battery warfare. The radar system is capable of detecting enemy fire assets (MLRS, artillery and mortar positions, tactical missile launchers, and air defence systems, etc.). "Zoopark-1" is also designed to calculate the trajectories of shells and missiles, adjust fire, monitor airspace, and control drones.
The "Zoopark-1" radar system was introduced into the Russian army’s arsenal in 2008. The first use of the "Zoopark-1" radar system by the occupiers in the war against Ukraine was recorded by Ukrainian intelligence in August 2016 on the outskirts of Horlivka in the Donetsk region. The radar complex costs approximately 24 million dollars.
Let’s recall that on May 31st, the OSTG "Khortytsia" reported the destruction of a Russian medium-range air defence system "Tor-M2". The Russian air defence was detected by scouts from the "Black Forest" brigade.
