From Austria, fifty evacuated children were returned to Ukraine

At night, 52 Ukrainian children were transported from Austria to Ukraine after being evacuated from Kropyvnytskyi at the beginning of the war.

This is reported by ORF.

It should be noted that Ukraine insisted on the return of the children. However, this decision caused criticism in Austria and the UN due to the ongoing conflict. The children were under the care of local authorities and the clinic that received them.

17 of these children have severe forms of disabilities.

According to ORF, the children arrived in Ukraine on the night of Sunday.

"The operation to return the children caused misunderstanding among the residents of Neudau (the city where the children from Ukraine were placed - Ed.). The residents wondered why the children had to return to a war zone when they were calmly attending school and kindergarten," the publication states.

However, the mayor of the city noted that he had no legal grounds to prevent their departure.
