"Russian Federation ’mole’ was preparing an attack on ’Neptune’ anti-ship complexes," - SSU
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) uncovered an RF "mole" who planned a missile-drone attack on Neptune complexes.
Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service detained a 33-year-old Ukrainian serviceman who worked for the GRU — the Russian military intelligence. His task was to provide the enemy with the exact coordinates of the unit that guards the Neptune anti-ship missile systems in southern Ukraine.
After transmitting the coordinates, the occupiers were supposed to strike, and the agent was to retreat to a safe distance upon signal from the handler.
However, thanks to the timely detection of the traitor, in collaboration with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Commander of the Naval Forces, the SSU managed to thwart the enemy’s plans and ensure the security of the Ukrainian missile systems.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the agent was also supposed to adjust strikes on training centers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, where he had once undergone training himself.
The traitor has already been notified of suspicion under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason under martial law). He is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
