Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshov remains abroad while searches and detentions continue in Ukraine
Vice Prime Minister Chernyshov remains abroad following a scandal involving a search of his premises and the arrest of his close associates in Ukraine.
This was highlighted by journalist Mykhailo Tkach.
«As expected, Vice Prime Minister Chernyshov has not returned to Ukraine. Six days ago, Chernyshov announced a forum organized by his ministry, and at his own forum, which took place in Kyiv (on June 17 - Ed.), he participated online for some reason. According to sources in law enforcement agencies, he has not crossed the border», Tkach writes.
Judging by Chernyshov’s Facebook page, he is still abroad. Today, he is holding meetings in Strasbourg. Yesterday - in Vienna. It was in Austria where he stayed when the aforementioned forum was held in Kyiv.
It is notable that on Monday, Zelenskyy was visiting Vienna. According to him, one of the topics of his meetings with Austrian officials was the extradition of Ukrainian citizens from Austria at Ukraine’s request. Meanwhile, one of the officials closest to Zelenskyy is evidently in no hurry to return to Ukraine, where he might become a figure in a criminal case.
Memes about this have already begun to appear.
«There is something ironic about the minister responsible for the return of Ukrainians leaving the country himself», social media users write.
It should be reminded that after Chernyshov’s departure abroad, searches were conducted in Ukraine, and the NABU and SAPO arrested two of his close associates - Director of Commercial Affairs at JSC "Ukrgasvydobuvannya" Maksym Horbatyuk and a member of the board of NJSC "Naftogaz" Vasyl Volodin.
